IF EVER YOU'RE IN MY ARMS AGAIN

The upcoming post-valentine romantic movie event from Star Cinema is another surefire hit. It stars Sam Milby and Toni Gonzaga on their third team-up on the big screen. I hope My Big Love would be as entertaining and heartwarming as their previous feel-good movie, You Are The One (I cannot comment on You Got Me because I was not able to watch that flick).

The song above is the theme song of the movie. I cannot find a good video of Sam and Toni with their duet of the song so I just took Peabo's song from Imeem. This song brings back old memories. Hope you like the song as well.

AMERICAN IDOL S7 TOP 24 (or so they say)

I've never been a big AI fan but I guess it kinda grows on you especially when you're living with people who love to watch the show (my sis and my bro-in-law, and yeah even my niece's yaya). There you go. Sorry I can't find any videos for the other male hopefuls but you can click on the link to see a photo of that contestant.

I think I'd stop at that for now coz I'm really getting a headache with my PC crashing and Firefox quitting on me. Hope I can get a new PC :(
TRICKSTER ONLINE

Trickster Online is another MMORPG that is free to play and is brought to you by Ntreev, Inc USA. It is pretty much like Ragnarok if you are familiar with that. However, since I'm not a hardcore player of RO, I can't differentiate one from the other.

This is a cool game because there are tons of freebies and events that are being offered to players. Aside from that, the gameplay is also nice, not to mention the graphics. It's not full 3D but it's a nice 2D scrollable game.

You can choose amongst 8 different characters with 4 different major growth stats or types. The characters are composed of the Power-types: Bunnys and Buffalos; the Magic-types: the Sheeps and the Dragons; the Sense-Types: Raccoons and Lions; the Charm-types: Cats and Foxes.

My major character in-game is a Dragon that I am training to be a Dark Magician. I really enjoy playing it because you get to meet people from different parts of the world. In our guild, there are people from the US and from Canada, some are from Europe and there are also players from the Philippines. In the game, there are also people from other countries like Brazil (which we don't understand because they don't speak English, and even if they do, you'd have a hard time understanding their point) and Spain.

If you want to experience a nice game like this, just click on the image above to open the website so that you can register and download the gamne client. Just make sure you have a graphics card.
KUNG HEI FAT CHOI

Happy Chinese New Year to everybody!!! This is a video I took of a fireworks display near our place in QC. The quality isn't that good because I just took it with my N5330 phone. Enjoy! Kung Hei Fat Choi!

DoMyStuff.com - Outsource your life:

This is a cool website. Imagine people doing your task. If you want someone to have your toilet bowl cleaned, post it as a task, and wait for people to bid on that task so they can do it for you. This is only available in the US. I once saw on TV someone who was totally clueless as to how he was going to setup his TiVo. What he did, because basically the only techy thing he could do is use his PC and surf the net, he posted his problem as a task on this website and viola! Somebody who is an expert in TiVo installation came to the rescue.

Here are some tasks posted by random members:
* Clean up yard
* Cut tree branch
* Pet sitting
* Refinish antique desk & chair
* Lighting fixture & pot rack installation
* Handyman services
among many others.

How I wish we have that here in the Philippines ... well, guess not. We're not that dumb and busy

The New 7 Wonders of the World

The New7Wonders organization is happy to announce that the following 7 candidates have been elected by more than 100 million votes to represent global heritage throughout history. The listing is in random order, as announced at the Declaration Ceremony on 07.07.07. All the New 7 Wonders are equal and are presented as a group without any ranking.

Official New 7 Wonders of the World status is subject to a final validation process, and will be confirmed during a forthcoming New7Wonders Inauguration Tour.
~I really think it's high time they did this. I personally am not familiar with the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World (Pyramid of Giza, Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, Statue of Zeus at Olympia, Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, Colossus of Rhodes, Pharos of Alexandria) -- well, not really, I am familiar with the pyramids but the rest are a total blur to me. Out of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, only the pyramids remain standing. Kudos to the Egyptians! In fact, the pyramids were finalists in the selection of the new 7 wonders but sadly it was not chosen. Anyway, here are the New 7 Wonders of the World (not in any order because as they say, they are equal in popularity and prestige)

The Pyramid at Chichén Itzá (before 800 A.D.) Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico

Chichén Itzá, the most famous Mayan temple city, served as the political and economic center of the Mayan civilization. Its various structures - the pyram id of Kukulkan, the Temple of Chac Moo l, the Hall of the Thousand Pillars, and the Playing Field of the Prisoners – can still be seen tod ay and are demonstrative of an extraordinary commi tment to architectural space and composition. The pyramid itself was the last, and arguably the greatest, of all Mayan temples.
~ According to The Discovery Channel, this pyramid is a perfect one. every summer solstice, an image of a snake would be seen beside the steps of this pyramid (or something to that effect I can't really remember). There are other structures around the pyramid and they are equally as impressive.

Christ Redeemer (1931) Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

This statue of Jesus stands some 38 meters tall, atop the Corcovado mountain overlooking Rio de Janeiro. Designed by Brazilian Heitor da Silva Costa and created by French sculptor Paul Landowski, it is one of the world’s best-known monuments. The statue took five years to construct and was inaugurated on October 12, 1931. It has become a symbol of the city and of the warmth of th e Brazilian people, who receive visitors with open arms.
~ I have friends in Brazil and they tell me the Christ Redeemer statue is real ly awesome. However, did you know that this is not the tallest Christ statue in the world? The tallest would be, I think, is the one in Bolivia. It's called Cristo de la Concordia.

The Roman Colosseum (70 - 82 A.D.) Rome, Italy

This great amphitheater in the centre of Rome was built to give favors to successful legionnaires and to celebrate the glory of the Roman Empire. Its design concept still stands to this very day, and virtually every modern sports stadium some 2,000 years later still bears the irresistible imprint of the Colosseum's original design. Today, through films and history books, we are eve n more aware of the cruel fights and games that took place in this arena, all for the joy of the spectators.
~ Too bad we are glorifying this place. A lot of people died within the walls of this massive arena. It's virtually a slaughter house. I'm more sadden by the fact that it beat the Parthenon by being one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Anyway, it was a glorio us structure when it was constructed. Well, yeah, it still is.

The Taj Mahal (1630 A.D.) Agra, India

This immense mausoleum was built on the orders of Shah Jahan, the fifth Muslim Mogul emperor, to honor the memory of his beloved late wife. Built out of white marble and standing in formally laid-out walled gardens, the Taj Mahal is regarded as the most perfect jewel of Muslim art in India. The emperor was consequently jailed and, it is said, could then only see the Taj Mahal out of his small cell window.
~ One of the most symmetrical structures in the world, made of premium grade white marble, a monument of true love, need I say more? Finally something from Asia. This is really a majestic piece of art. Glad to know that this was included as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.

The Great Wall of China (220 B.C and 1368 - 1644 A.D.) China

The Great Wall of China was built to link existing for tifications into a unite d defense system and better keep invading Mongol tribes out of China. It is the largest man-made monument ever to have been built and it is disputed that it is the only one visible from space. Many thousands of people must have given their lives to build this colossal construction.
~ Hurrah! Strike two for the Asians. The only man-made structure visible from space. I so want to visit this place and just admire it. I also want to bring my family to this place but I don't think my parents could endure the long walk hehehe

Petra (9 B.C. - 40 A.D.), Jordan

On the edge of the Arabian Desert, Petra was the glittering capital of the Nabataean empire of King Aretas IV (9 B.C. to 40 A.D.). Masters of water technology, the Nabataeans provided their city with great tunnel constructions and water chambers. A theater, modelled on Greek-Roman prototypes, had space for an audience of 4,000. Today, the Palace Tombs of Petra, with the 42-meter-high Hellenistic temple facade on the El-Deir Monastery, are impressive examples of Middle Eastern culture.
~ Three-in-a-row! Another Asian wonder. The Petra is one of the most impressive stone sculptures/structures in the world. I believe this was also used as one of the backdrops for the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It is still as wonderful as ever.

Machu Picchu (1460-1470), Peru

In the 15th century, the Incan Emperor Pachacútec built a city in t he clouds on the mountain known as Machu Picchu ("old mountain"). This extraordinary settlement lies halfway up the Andes Plateau, deep in the Amazon jungle and above the Urubamba River. It was probably abandoned by the Incas because of a smallpox outbreak and, after the Spanish defeated the Incan Empire, the city remained 'lost' for over three centuries. It was rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911.
~ One of the most majestic ancient structures man has ever discovered. It must have taken a great deal of hardship to build this "city in the sky". We actually have a jigsaw puzzle of this place. It must have been really something to have lived in this place. However, it must have been really, really cold hehehe

Well, there you have it. The New 7 Wonders of the World. If you want to know more about these Wonders, you can go and visit the website. Just >>>click here<<<. You can also go to that website to vote for the next big thing! The New 7 Wonders of Nature. Please vote for the Tubbataha Reef in the Philippines as well.

WELCOME BACK

Well, yeah, it's official. I'm back from my very long hiatus. Just like what I said on my last post, alot has happened, but before anything else, I have a good news:

I have just received an update regarding my final pay from eTelecare (which has been long overdue). I just hope there would not be any problems with that. Finally they can release my final pay.

Okay, let's move on ... I'm blogging right now because I'm waiting for my download to finish and I can't do anything else while I'm doing that ... well, except for blogging. And yeah, I NEED (emphasis on need) to blog because it's a prerequisite before I can qualify for the PayPerPost website. They said my registration has been rejected because, and I quote: "as per our terms of service, we do not accept blogs with a non-writing period of 30+ days in the past 90 days." I surely don't qualify hehehe. I'll make sure I blog almost everyday so I can qualify and earn some money.

Since there have been loads of things that happened since my last real post, I'll dedicate individual posts for them. I'll try to write about my experiences for the past two years. yes, TWO long years hahaha. Anyway, here goes . . .

Thursday, January 24, 2008

Whoa . . .

I can't believe it's been two years since I last posted a blog on my blogger. Two long years this coming Feb 18. A lot has happened. A lot has changed.

WEEE TEACHER FOR A DAY!!!

... well, maybe not for a day, but for a subject... it's cool...

... my group is now assigned at San Lazaro Hospital in Manila and we had our orientation last February 13... our CI gave us our assignment for the rest of the duty and one of our requirements is to present a report on one of the communicable diseases that we are going to encounter in the hospital... first on her list is pulmonary tuberculosis since we are going to handle PTB patients on our first day of duty...

... i guess i came almost prepared for my presentation last Thursday (Feb 16) since I was assigned to do a report on PTB... that was until I heard the orientation given by one of the staff in Pavilion X (aka Jurassic, Iwahid)... damn he was great! I got so nervous after that... the good thing was, I wasn't able to present my report because we ran out of time (thanks, smiley!) ... so i had to present the next day...

... well, i reviewed my report and added more details to it from the book i bought from the hospital... since we didn't have any patient to take care of last Friday, our CI decided to push thru with the reporting... so i was first on the line sinsce i asn't able to do it the previous day.... ha! i was almost running out of spit because my report was so long... but our CI thought it was nice and she even asked me if i could present my report again on Wednesday (in our class) since our topic will be on PTB... i was like... whoa! that's great! i can't wait... it'll be really embarassing but what the heck! let's get it on!!!!

BLUE

You're blue — the most soothing shade of the spectrum. The color of a clear summer sky or a deep, reflective ocean, blue has traditionally symbolized trust, solitude, and loyalty. Most likely a thoughtful person who values spending some time on your own, you'd rather connect deeply with a few people than have a bunch of slight acquaintances. Luckily, making close friends isn't that hard, since people are naturally attracted to you — they're soothed by your calming presence. Cool and collected, you rarely overreact. Instead, you think things through before coming to a decision. That level-headed, thoughtful approach to life is patently blue — and patently you!

IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU... IN THIS CASE, TO US...

they say it is better to have your house be robbed than to be caught in fire... i say they're both bad... it leaves you hurting... in a state of shock, which is quite traumatizing... grieving... sad...

i am indeed hurt with the way people treat other people because they are more fortunate than they are... our house (my parents' room specifically) was stripped of every money and jewelry last Saturday, January 22, 2006... i still don't know how it happened but from what i've heard, the culprits saw the metal grating of the window of my parents and somehow managed to open the sliding window from the outside... i guess they finished sawing through the metal grating the time my parents arrived in the house and they were robbed while they were in the living room area....

... it's bad enough that my cellphone was stolen last december, our long metal garden chair in the receiving area was also stolen while my parents were sleeping just recently... now this... they have infiltrated our house... they were fucking good... i hope they rot in hell... i grieve for my parents and worry for their safety... i wish i could have prevented it... i hope that when i finally get to have a good job, i can take my parents in a safe place where they won't worry about being robbed... or i could increase the level of security in our house... maybe a high voltage fence and metal gates and gratings... and loads of rabid dogs, poison ivys/ivies, loads of alarms, the works!

... i can't help but ask "why?, why us?, what did we do to get this?" aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh i am sooooooooo maaaaaaaddddd!!!!!!!!!!

HAHAHA

I already know what happened last October... we moved in to a new place.. Greenhills Garden Square.. it's a nice place with a pool and a gym... the mini-theater is yet to be finalized... we're on the 9th floor which is ultra cool especially last December because we got to see loads of fireworks!!!! i saw fireworks as far as the Quirino Grandstand during the closing Ceremony of the SEA Games... wala lang...
NEW MMORPG

I am playing anew game (well, actually it's been released for quite sometime already but I have recently played it) and it's sooooo nice... it's called PangYa! try it! Here's my hole in one:

THE CHALLENGE

... budget PhP560 for five days or more!
THE HIATUS

... after a looooonnnggg absence from the blogging world, I am back... because Blogger Admin was nice enough to fix my account... tnx guys! i know you can pull it off although I had to wait for several weeks hehehe...

... well, where to start... dami nang nangyari... my last blog was on the 12th of October which was 3 months ago pa!

... October... hmmm... i don't remember much about what happened last October so I'll skip this one...

... November, aside from my very uneventful birthday, nothing much happened...

... December... ahh... Xmas break... prior to that, a fun Xmas party with 4A1-8 group on December 20 and a very sad, life and perspective-changing xmas party with the 4B1-6 group on the 21st...

... last december 20, we went to Divisoria (contrary to our press release which was Greenhills)... I had so much fun eventhough my feet were killing me... bought alot of things there... ahhh before that pala, my sister and I went to Tiendesitas... it was a cool place... alot of really cheap stuff... Ii found a pair of pants for PhP500 (USD10)!!! pero I didn't buy it kasi ala ako budget hehehe... I ended up buying two cool shirts for PhP250 each (USD5)...

... to continue, and to make the looooonnnnngggg and traumatic story short, I lost my cellphone last december 21, at a xmas party with the 4B1-6 group. it was a total bummer because of all the cellphones I had, it was the one which I was most attached to... i lost it amongst a group of people whom I thought I could trust... I'm not blaming a specific person because I don't know who took it... needless to say, some people were so apathetic with what happened....

... some stupid person got carried away and spilled beer on us after a photo op. that really pissed me off... meaning I walked out... another person told me... "anong problema mo?" in the most annoying tone you could possibly hear. writing about what happened isn't helping me... it only brings back horrid memories... and I really didn't like the way people asked me "what happened?", "why this, why that?"... can't you see I can't think straight?... so I am sparing you the details...

... a couple of guys dropped me off here in GGS after I walked out... it was a nice gesture... thanks...

... so I spent my whole Xmas vacation enduring the taunts and sarcasms from people who really didn't understand...

... who else to blame but me... I was at fault... always am... never should have done this, and that... my lesson? And the one I am going to hold on for the rest of my life... NEVER TRUST ANYONE even if they call you part of their family, or they say they are your truest of true friends... My only true friend is my self... you assholes... backstab me again and you'll surely get it...

... so for this month (January) aside from cost cutting, I am no longer going to hang out with any group. Which is a relief on my part because I can again choose the place where I wanna eat, i don't have to wait for anyone, I can go to places I want to go ... the possibilities are endless as compared to when you're a part of a carpool.... you must to succumb to their time, their schedule, their diet...

... I am not saying I can make it on my own already... sure I can still talk to them but say, to hang out with them? naaahhh I don't see that coming...

... besides, I am sooo fed up with the word lashing... I am not perfect... if you don't see that, well, you're stupid... how hard is it to understand that trust is very important to me after what happened... don't expect that everything will be alright... because they won't... that there are better things in life than being stuck in a quagmire of abhorrent experiences.... there are for sure... that is why I am taking the first step of distancing myself from people who cause me so much stress...

... people who:
1. think you're someone other than what you are showing to them...
2. want you to be someone you're totally not...
3. think they're too good for your company...
4. stereotype you; put you in a box...
5. ridicule your flaws...
6. think you're really lazy (which in this case, I am... I just don't want people rubbing that in without encouraging me to change)...
7. calls h**selves your bestfriend but experiences parapraxis... then takes back what has been said... which is... STUPID... if that is how you see me, then fuck you!
8. compare you to people...
9. think they're too intelligent to be hanging around with a lowlife like me...
10. doesn't care about your feelings; very insensitive...
11. brags about h** money making you feel like you're a nobody, a puny insect that needs to be stepped on...
12. send you SMS just to ask you... when, where, who, what, how... am I a walking information center? it may be ok ONCE.... but do it constantly? damn you have to pay attention and read the bulletin board! it's all there!...
13. think something is wrong with me... why does it always have to be me? there is nothing wrong with me! what made you say that? things have never been this OK! maybe something is wrong with you! have you ever thought about that?...
14. always say sorry... a friend once told me... "it's better to be careful than to say sorry all the time..."
15. go through your things like it's not a private thing...
remember I am having trouble trusting people...
16. rub everything in...
17. rob you of right to grieve and be sad...
18. think they understand you but completely fails at it...

... i could go on ans on... but for now, that is my list...

... I may have offended some people with the things I wrote but this is how I feel... I may not be able to say these in-you-face -- I still need to muster the courage to do that -- but I hope you respect me nonetheless for blogging them. Until that time comes when I can directly tell you... "I was offended by that," I guess I still have to rely on my blog as my comfort zone.... off to my next topic...

ILLUSIONS OF A MADMAN (AND MADWOMAN HAHAHAHA)

... when asked if Racquel wanted to go back to Big Brother's house, she said no... she said she's expecting alot from her showbiz career now that she is a "star" namputsa ang ilusyonada!!! a big reason why she doesn't want to go back to Big Bro's house is because Bob is no longer there.

... Bob on the other hand is also expecting a blooming career in showbizness... my gosh! showbiz doesn't need another hypocrite!

... ASSHOLES!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
